TRIO MORELIA

       Born in Mexico in 1977 where he began his music studies. Further studies in the USA and Europe, receiving his Master in Music Performance as well as his Master in Culture Administration. 

        He has performed concerts in Austria, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the USA, and Venezuela, performing in prestigious halls such as the Musikverein (Austria), Rudolphinum (Czech Republic), Parco della Musica (Italy), Kennedy Center for the Arts (Washington, DC, USA), Shizuoka Hall (Japan), Auditorio Nacional de Música (Spain), Sala Nezahualcóyotl (Mexico), Teatro Teresa Carreño (Venezuela), and Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico), as soloist of different orchestras and as member of chamber ensembles.    

        He has been winner of several competitions (in violin and chamber music) in Mexico and the USA, and has been a grantee of renowned institutions such as: Fulbright Foundation, Goldberg Trust, Semans Arts Fund, Fundación Carolina, Alban Program, Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Instituto Michoacano de la Juventud, Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Michoacán (State Endowment for the Arts in Michoacán), and Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes de México (National Endowment for the Arts in México). 

        He has performed for radio and television programs in Germany, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA.  Recordings for the labels Amati, CC Morelia, Clásicos Mexicanos, Columna Música, Forlane, K 617, SF, Tañidos, Tritó, and Warner Music.

        Currently he is member of the Trío Morelia, Camerata de Michoacán, Ensemble ACA (Spain), and Ensemble Laboratorium (Switzerland), besides performing regularly as a duo with Roberto Fresco, organist at the Almudena Cathedral (Madrid, Spain).  Also, he is Artistic Director of the International Encounters of Iberian and Latin American Music (Mexico City). 

        Upcoming activities include concerts in Europe as well as in North and South America as professor, soloist, in chamber music ensembles, and as guest concertmaster with different orchestras.
